Sharmila Sinnathamby

(Master of Teaching Early Childhood)

Sharmila completed her Master of Teaching in Early Childhood in 2013. Sharmila have experiences working with children in both childcare and primary school. Sharmila’s teaching skills have developed during her studies and work placements.  Her personal philosophy is to ensure that children are provided with an environment that is enriching and reflective of individual needs. Sharmila was born in Malaysia and has been residing in Australia for 11 years. She is fluent in English, Malay and Tamil. In her spare time, she loves baking, cooking, traveling, socialising with friends, going to the gym, learning new things on internet and reading spiritual books.

Vathany (Diploma of Children’s Services)

Vathany completed her Diploma of Children’s Services in early 2012, has many years of experience in working with children from 0-5 and enjoys every moment she spends with the children. She provided family day care for children under three when her children were young, then worked in the after school care and Long Day Care areas of the Early Childhood Education sector.


She did her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics in the United Kingdom and migrated to Australia in 2003. She speaks fluent English and Tamil. She loves to care for her own children, enjoys cooking, shopping, travelling and spending and socialising times with families and friends.

Pearl Quincy (Certificate III in Children’s Services)

Pearl completed her Certificate III Children’s Services in 2010 early childhood service and discovering her passion for working with young children. Pearl speaks English, Sinhalese, Italian and Tamil. She lived in Italy for 12 years and migrated to Australia in 2007. She has two children of her own and in her spare time enjoys gym, cooking Italian food, shopping, socialising and spending time with families and friends and watching movies.

Navneet (Diploma of Children’s Services)

Navneet completed her Diploma of Children’s Services in early 2012, having worked in the Early Childhood Education industry for several years and fluent in English, Hindi and Punjabi. Navneet is passionate about providing young children with a high quality educational experience. In her spare time Navneet enjoys cooking, gardening, reading books and spending time on the Internet.


Jun (Certificate III in Children’s Services)

 Jun completed her Certificate III in Children’s Services in 2011 and became a regular member of the Hansen St team shortly afterwards. She has two young children of her own and loves spending time with children and watching them develop. Jun is  fluent in Mandarin and English. In her spare time Jun enjoys reading and cooking.


Marian (Certificate III in Hospitality)

Marian obtained a Certificate III in Hospitality (commercial cookery) in 2009. She has a passion for providing healthy and delicious meals for the children in her care and enjoys overcoming the many challenges that working in the early childhood education industry can offer. Marian has two teenage children of her own, a son and daughter, who have just completed high school. Marian speaks fluent English and Sinhalese. In her spare time Marian enjoys hairdressing, walking and caring for others.


LIZZY  (Diploma of Children’s Services )

Lizzy completed her Diploma of Children’s Services in 2013. Lizzy began her career as a volunteer at her church before taking on a casual position at Hansen Street Children centre in May 2011. Lizzy is Chinese and speaks fluent mandarin. She has a lovely son attending at Hansen St. In her spare time Lizzy enjoys cooking, socializing, shopping and reading.

Shamailah(Diploma of Children’s Services)

 Shamailah completed her Diploma of Children’s Services in mid 2012 and has enjoyed a full time role at Hansen St since 2013. Shamailah enjoys working with children especially to see the different ways in which they learn and loves watching them interact with each other using their imagination. Shamailah has two high school aged children and one primary school aged child of her own. She is fluent in English, Urdu and Hindi. In her spare time Shamailah enjoys reading, spending time with her children and volunteering within her local community.
